David Licauco said he got starstruck when he saw Maria Ozawa for the very first time.
In Nelson Canlas’s report on “24 Oras Weekend,” Sunday, the Pambansang Ginoo said he met the Japanese actress during their taping for “Pulang Araw.”
In the series, David plays Hiroshi Tanaka, the son of Japanese immigrants in the Philippines. Maria plays his mom, Haruka Tanaka.
“Actually paakyat dito nakita ko si Maria Ozawa,” he said in an interview. “Nagulat ako na andyan siya saka ang ganda niya.”
David previously went viral for his appearance in a “Family Feud” episode back in January, where he answered “Maria Ozawa” as a name associated with “Maria.”
Maria reacted to the viral clip, saying “he’s cute.”
Aside from David, “Pulang Araw” also stars Barbie Forteza, Sanya Lopez, Alden Richards, and Dennis Trillo.
The series airs weeknights on GMA Prime at 8 p.m. after “24 Oras.” It is also streaming on Netflix, where it is currently on the Top 10 TV Shows in the Philippines Today.
