MANILA, Philippines — Many cities in Metro Manila have canceled classes for Thursday because of the strong winds and rain from Severe Tropical Storm “Kristine,” according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Wednesday night.
As of 7 p.m., the following cities have announced that classes are suspended in all public and private schools:
- Caloocan City
- Las Piñas City
- Malabon
- Mandaluyong City
- Manila
- Marikina City
- Muntinlupa
- Navotas
- Parañaque City
- Pasay
- Pasig City
- Pateros
- Quezon City
- San Juan City
- Taguig City
- Valenzuela City
In addition, classes are also canceled in Cavite, La Union, Tarlac, Laguna, and Batangas. The Office of the Executive Secretary has announced that classes and government work are suspended in Bicol, which has been greatly affected by the storm.
Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla mentioned that he will provide updates for all local governments in Luzon on Thursday.
