Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda is finally home with his family after facing a series of delays on his trip back from Sorsogon due to Typhoon Kristine.
After being stranded for several days in Sorsogon, Chito’s flight back to Manila was delayed for five hours. When they finally took off, bad weather forced their plane to make an unplanned stop in Kalibo, Aklan. What was supposed to be a 45-minute flight turned into a five-hour journey.
When they finally landed in Manila, Chito and his bandmates faced another four hours in traffic on SLEX due to flooding. Despite the long journey, Chito shared his relief and gratitude on social media, posting a photo of himself beside his sleeping son. “Finally, I’m home,” he wrote.
In a previous post, Chito shared that he was thankful for the detour, saying, “As long as we’re safe, that’s what matters.” He thanked the crew for keeping everyone calm and safe and gave a shout-out to the kind people who helped him charge his phone so he could update his wife, Neri Naig.
Chito also expressed gratitude to his bandmates, the fans who attended their concert in Sorsogon for the Kasanggayahan Festival, and the local families who helped take care of them during the storm.
“Thank You, Lord, for bringing us back safe and healthy. You’re the best,” Chito wrote. “So happy to be home with my family. Goodnight!”
