Three queens in one frame!
Miss Universe Philippines 2024 Chelsea Manalo recently met fellow Filipina queens Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz and Miss Universe 1973 Margie Moran.
On social media, the Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) shared some snaps of the three queens taken during the launch of the newest phase of the Pasig Rehabilitation Urban Development Project (PRUDP) on Sunday.
“LEGENDS. Miss Universe Philippines 2024 Chelsea is beyond happy to be reunited with legendary beauty queens and her personal idols Gloria Diaz, Miss Universe 1969, and Margie Moran, Miss Universe 1973,” the caption read.
Chelsea, Gloria, and Margie were among the spectators who graced the inauguration of the Phase 1C of the PRUDP on Sunday.
Phase 1C is the newest phase of the PRUDP. Set to open to the public this August, it is a 250-meter development that stretches from Plaza de Mexico in Intramuros across Jones Bridge and down to the showcase area behind the Manila Post Office.
It has a ground level walkway with about 32 stalls for commercial lease. Above it is a roof deck where people may stroll, bike, or just take in the view of the Pasig River. It also features exquisite balusters, which are crafted by Filipino artisans.
Meanwhile, the 500-meter showcase area, which serves as a public park, was inaugurated in January this year.
According to an Unang Balita report by GMA Integrated News’ Jonathan Andal on Monday, the inter-agency urban renovation project will make biking and walking easier for Manila residents and tourists, whether they are traveling from Intramuros to Quiapo or Binondo to Luneta. Plans to construct an additional 135-boardwalk starting at Plaza de Mexico are now underway.
Chelsea was crowned the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 in May. She will represent the country in the international pageant later this year, but already, the beauty queen from Bulacan is taking her representation seriously. Last Independence Day, she uploaded a tribute video for the Philippines on social media.
“From Bulacan to Manila to any city in the country, there’s no place in the universe like the Philippines!” Chelsea wrote back then.
