Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV announced on Saturday that he will run for mayor in Caloocan City.
“Reform is an understatement of what needs to be done and I am ready to take on that challenge to uplift Caloocan and its people. Today, I am announcing my candidacy for mayor of Caloocan City,” Trillanes said.
The former senator made the announcement during the mass oathtaking of the Magdalo partylist.
“During the past months, I have been going around Caloocan City, where I have heard the people’s plea for change. I have seen and felt the needs of our people and the serious gaps in addressing their problems,” he said.
“In the coming months, I will present my platform to the people on how I and my team will bring change in Caloocan City,” added Trillanes.
Trillanes was senator for two consecutive terms from 2007 to 2019. He also ran in the 2022 elections, hoping for a comeback senate comeback, but was unsuccessful.
