Alice Guo, siblings not found in listed properties – Senate OSAA

The Senate’s arresting teams were unable to locate suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, or her siblings on Saturday.

In Jonathan Andal’s ”24 Oras Weekend” report on Saturday, the mayor was not found in her Bamban residence by the Senate Office of Sergeant-at-Arms (OSAA) team and the police.

Guo had not been back to the residence for some time, according to the caretaker who faced the arresting team.

The arresting team was denied entry to the garment factory in Valenzuela City, the listed address of the mayor’s siblings, Siemen and Sheila Leal Guo.

In an update by Senate President Francis ”Chiz” Escudero, as reported by Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Roberto Ancan, Wesley Leal Guo and Dennis Cunanan were also not found.

Cunanan’s camp, however, gave assurance that he would attend the next hearing of the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality.

Meanwhile, Nancy Gamo, Guo’s accountant, is now in Senate custody.

Earlier, the Senate issued arrest orders against the mayor and seven others due to their failure to attend the upper chamber’s investigation into the raided POGO hub in Bamban.

Multiple teams were deployed by the Senate to serve the arrest orders within 24 hours.

Guo’s lawyer, Stephen David, said that the mayor and her team were aware of the consequences of not attending hearings.

“Considering her physical and mental health condition and the trauma she [suffered] from so [much] massive cyber bullying and humiliation, she is not really capable of attending Senate hearings at the moment. Hopefully, when her condition [improves], we will see her again during hearings,” said David. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
