MANILA, Philippines: THE Valenzuela City government has deployed two mobile showers and toilets for its residents to enjoy and use for free, Mayor Weslie “Wes” Gatchalian said on Sunday.
Costing P12.7-million, the two mobile units have eight shower enclosures and eight toilets, hand-wash basins and folding clothes racks, the mayor said.
“We thought this would be a great idea as most of us, especially here in Valenzuela, are experiencing excessive heat and water shortage in some areas,” Gatchalian told The Manila Times via Viber.
He said that the mobile showers can also be deployed in evacuation centers during disasters.
This month, the mobile showers will go around the villages daily.

“We have communities that have power interruptions and they can’t take a shower because there’s no electricity in their house,” the mayor added.
Meanwhile, the city government turned over four motorcycles to Barangay Parada that can be used by village officials to keep the peace.
