Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro said on Saturday that he intended to revise the current design of the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ reserve forces paradigm.
According to a DZBB report by Luisito Santos, Teodoro explained that the current design may no longer be valid given the current threats against the country.
He also said that the Philippines could be facing an unknown incoming threat that may call for our citizens to work together to defend the country, especially with our aerial and maritime defenses.
Meanwhile, AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo Brawner Jr. welcomed the revision plans.
Brawner said that he would like to develop the country’s total force, which meant the combination of both the regular and reserve forces of the Philippines, in case of unprecedented emergencies or threats. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
