Marcos confident in Gadon’s ability to help ease poverty

PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. maintains his trust and confidence in Lorenzo “Larry” Gadon despite the many issues hounding the recently appointed Presidential Adviser on Poverty Alleviation.

The Chief Executive made the reiteration after formally swearing Gadon into office late Monday afternoon.

In a brief statement posted on his official social media accounts, Marcos said appointing Gadon was part of his administration’s continuing efforts to end poverty and hunger in the country.

“I am confident that his experience and ability would greatly help in providing the needs of our countrymen,” he said in Filipino.

Gadon’s appointment as presidential adviser drew flak from the public after the Supreme Court en banc last month, by a unanimous vote of 15-0, ruled to remove Gadon from its roll over his “his viral clip where he repeatedly cursed and uttered profane remarks against journalist Raissa Robles.”

In response, the embattled staunch Marcos supporter said he will file a motion for reconsideration as he deemed the ruling “too harsh.”

Gadon also vowed to help ease malnutrition among the Filipino youth through his ‘Batang Busog, Malusog’ or BBM Movement to coincide with the observance of National Nutrition Month in July.
