Arnie Teves says another property raided

Suspended Negros Oriental lawmaker Arnie Teves on Friday said that another raid had been conducted on one of his pieces of property.

In a Facebook Live video, Teves wished that there would be no planting of evidence during the operation at a poultry farm.

“Somebody told me that our properties will be a subject of a raid, and just now, ni raid na agad iyong manukan sa bahay ko. Sana lang wala na namang itinanim. Malamang may itatanim na naman para magmukha akong masama,” Teves said in on Facebook.

(Just now, the poultry farm at my house had been raided. I hope they did not plant evidence. Probably, they will do so to make me look bad.)

“Sana lang wala,” he added.

(I hope they did not.)

GMA News Online has sought comment from the Department of the Interior and Local Government, and the Philippine National Police.

Teves had been linked to the killing of Negros Occidental Gov. Roel Degamo.

He has repeatedly denied any involvement in the slaying, saying he stood to gain nothing by killing the provincial chief executive.

Charges have been filed against him in connection with killings in 2019.

The authorities have raided some of his properties and seized unauthorized weapons.

Government officials have asked that he return to the country to face the allegations against him.

“Just now, they again conducted a raid on this area. This is a shakedown and abuse of power. This is not right and should be called out. This is not a good sign for everybody,” Teves said.

“Tama na, sobra na (Stop this, I have had enough),” he added. –NB, GMA Integrated News
