A powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit Myanmar on March 28, leaving four Filipinos missing. The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is closely monitoring the situation, and rescue efforts are underway.
Who Are the Missing Filipinos?
The four missing individuals are Filipino professionals, working as teachers or office workers.
Two of them are a married couple who were inside their home when the building collapsed.
Authorities are still trying to locate them.
Myanmar Calls for Help 
The earthquake has caused massive destruction, and Myanmar has asked for international assistance. So far, more than 1,600 people have been confirmed dead.
How is the Philippines Helping? 
The Philippine government is stepping in to provide aid: Emergency rescue teams are ready to be deployed.
The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) is preparing resources for humanitarian aid.
10 people will be sent to Myanmar for rescue operations.
