2 Chinese nationals nabbed in Pasig for illegal possession of firearms

Two Chinese nationals were arrested for alleged illegal possession of firearms in a raid in an exclusive village in Pasig City.

According to a “24 Oras” report by John Consulta, agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) carrying a search warrant swooped down on the house and seized an assault rifle, a 40-caliber gun and ammunition.

The firearms were allegedly used by the suspects to threaten their fellow Chinese nationals.

“Nakatanggap tayo ng complaint regarding this Chinese individual na madalas lasing, mahilig makipagaway, mahilig makipagsuntukan… bully ito sa ibang Chinese,” said NBI regional director Rommel Vallejo.

(We received complaints regarding this Chinese individual who is often drunk and has a habit of picking up a fight… he’s bully to other Chinese nationals.)

They were also able to recover patches that were embroidered with the words Sniper Team,  Assault Team, Blasting Team and Machine Gun Team, which were found to be accessories of an airsoft uniform.

“Nabibili ito sa online shopping apps. Walang katotohanan na ito ay isang pagplano ng mga Chinese na gumawa ng destabilization dito sa ating bansa,” Vallejo said.

(These can be bought through online shopping apps…. There’s no truth that this is part of the plan of the Chinese to create a destabilization plot in the country.)

The suspects will face charges of illegal possession of firearms. —Jiselle Anne Casucian
