CAIRO — Early Saturday, three projectiles were launched from Lebanon, injuring 19 people in central Israel’s Sharon region, according to Israeli police. Sirens rang out across multiple areas as the Israeli military intercepted some of the projectiles, though one appears to have landed in the town of Tira.
In Tira, seven people suffered mild to moderate injuries, and two others experienced stress symptoms. Emergency teams were quick to respond, helping those injured and calming the area.
Meanwhile, a group called the Islamic Resistance in Iraq claimed they had launched drones toward a key location in northern Israel, though it’s unclear if this was linked to the injuries. Tensions and fighting between Israel and the Lebanese group Hezbollah have been rising in recent weeks, making the situation especially tense.
